During my senior year of college, I wanted to create something different that captured the people and memories behind the games I photographed. For every senior night, I invited each graduating athlete to sign a sheet of plexiglass attached to the front of my camera. What started as a simple idea turned into one of my most meaningful keepsakes, preserving not only the athletes' names but also the memories of an unforgettable collegiate career.
I had the incredible opportunity to cover the NFL Flag 13U International Championship for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I was assigned to document Team Ireland and Team Mexico where I captured photo, video, and social media content throughout the tournament, highlighting the athletes and competition that unfolded on and off the field. Witnessing young players proudly represent their countries was an inspiring experience, and it reinforced the power of sports to bring together cultures from around the world.
Pacific University Lū‘au and Hō‘ike is an annual, student run celebration hosted by the Nā Haumāna O Hawai‘i club in Forest Grove, Oregon. It is the largest student-run lū‘au in the Pacific Northwest, drawing over 2,000 attendees to enjoy traditional island cuisine and spectacular cultural performances. Photographing this celebration has become one of the highlights of my year, allowing me to document the vibrant traditions, community, and spirit that make the event so special.
